MacBook Shipments LIkely To Be Down For 2013

Digitimes’ Aaron Lee and Joseph Tsai report that Apple’s overall MacBook shipments in 2013 may decrease year-over-year despite the fact that they has been increasing their orders to the upstream supply chain for new MacBook models, according to sources at ODMs who note that their shipments for new MacBook devices have been increasing since June and volumes in the third quarter grew 10-20% growth sequentially, with shipment growth expected to continue in October.

However, Apple’s weak MacBook shipments and suspension of component shipments for one quarter in the first half are expected to impact its overall MacBook shipments in 2013.
