Phablet Market To Become A Windows-Android Race With iOS A Non-Participant?

Forbes’ Haydn Shaughnessy blogs that having created the tablet market with the iPad, Apple has been woefully slow into phablets (ie:large screen smartphones with 5.6 inch or larger displays), and further procrastination could result in the phablet market becoming a two horse race, with neither horse being of the iOS breed.

Shaughnessy cites a report a new report from UK market research firm Juniper Research contending that the phablet market is set for very rapid expansion with Nokia (Windows) alongside Samsung (Android) in the lead with phablets expected to become highly desired devices for certain regions and demographics, portending a potential surprise revival for Windows in a fast growing market not shared between iOS and Android.
