NuPower High-Performance Batteries for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Line Expanded

Your editor is not a fan of Apple’s decision to go with built-in, non-swappable batteries in its laptops. My late-2008 model MacBook got under the wire with an easily user-swappable battery, but Apple’s mot recent laptops have been rendered in practical terms disposable consumables by dint of the fact that when their OEM battery dies, the cost of replacing it would likely exceed the residual value of the machine.

Consequently, my MacBook Air has no practical chance to still be in service 14 years from now the way my two old Pismo PowerBooks still are, which to my way’ of thinking amounts to value diminished.

However, for slightly older Mac laptops, NewerTech has announced the release of five new replacement batteries for the MacBook Pro 17 Unibody Early and Late 2009; MacBook Pro 15 Unibody Mid-2009 and Mid-2010; MacBook Pro 15 Unibody Early-2011 to Mid-2012; MacBook Pro 13 2009 to current; and MacBook Air 2008 2009.

NuPower batteries are engineered to perfectly match the size and fit of the original factory battery as well as offer full compatibility with applicable OEM sleep and power reduction modes. The included tools and step-by-step online instructional videos walk do-it-yourselfers through the installation process.

The NuPower line now has an extensive range of batteries for over 50 Apple laptops made from 1998 to 2012, says Larry O Connor, president of NewerTech. Laptop owners can experience like-new or better battery capacity, extending the useful life of their machines.

Powerful and Responsible

NuPower battery upgrade solutions also offer up to 23% more capacity vs. original factory batteries, are environmentally responsible, and feature RoHS certification to be free of lead, mercury, cadmium, PBBs, and PBDE. NewerTech also offers a comprehensive recycling program for old batteries, as well as an industry-leading NewerTech Laptop Battery 1-Year Limited Warranty.
