Apple Releases OS X Mavericks bash Update 1.0 To Patch “Shellshock” Vulnerabity

Apple has released a patch update for OS X Mavericks users to address the recently-detected “Shellshock” security bug in BSD UNIX’s bash shell. Apple says only a few Mac users who had manually configured their computers in a way that exposed them to hackers were actually vulnerable to Shellshock, and most were protected by default. If you don’t know what the bash UNIX shell is, you almost certainly were not at risk

Still no Apple patches for older OS X versions or for the public beta or developer builds of OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

For more information on the security content of this update, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222

System Requirements:
OS X Mavericks v10.9.5 or later (but not Yosemite)
