New Interactive iPad App Helps Advisors Build Stronger Client Relationships

Envestnet | Tamarac, a division of Envestnet, Inc. and a provider of integrated and web-based portfolio and client management software for independent advisors, has announced the launch of its Advisor View app for iPad users, which will be available in the first quarter of 2015. The app, which is the latest solution from Tamarac that advisors can use to further their engagement with clients, can be custom-branded for Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) by Tamarac and placed in the Apple Store for those firms’ employees and clients to download.

“It’s all about client engagement and empowering advisors to demonstrate their value in a way that makes their clients want to interact with them,” says Stuart DePina, Group President, Envestnet | Tamarac. “Advisors can utilize their firms’ iPad app as an extension of their integrated portfolio management platform, Advisor Xi, and their end clients will find great value in the rewarding mobile interface.”

Mr. DePina continues, “Having this level of mobility arms advisors with a 24/7 storefront to strengthen their client relationships through an additional dynamic touch point—further enabling RIAs to remain competitive with ‘robo-advisors’ while demonstrating their value and expert guidance for the clients they work with.”

Advisor View combines portfolio analysis, reporting, and billing capabilities with a client portal so advisors can create complete financial pictures for each client and deliver them in an interactive and paperless medium. Advisor View is a component of Advisor Xi, Envestnet | Tamarac’s web-based platform for independent RIAs, and enables advisors to put together customized client-facing reports and send them to clients through the client portal—which the iPad app has taken to the next level.

The app builds on Advisor View’s current client portal offerings, including a personalized dashboard, dynamic reports, a document vault, and client communication tools, but utilizes a new user interface specially designed for iPads. The Advisor View iPad app’s innovative features include:

• An interactive and elegant portfolio dashboard offering drill-down capabilities for detailed reports.
• Drill-down and swipe navigation for portfolio and performance reports, which increase interactivity for RIAs’ clients.
• Custom online videos and other multimedia content with timely information about wealth management and investing.
• The capability for advisors to view more accounts on a single screen, and grant portal access to attorneys, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and other third parties.

“RIAs provide specialized expertise, services, and insight that clients cannot obtain anywhere else, and the Advisor View iPad app was built to demonstrate this value,” Mr. DePina notes. “The heightened interactivity fostered by this app allows clients to see first-hand the vital role advisors play in effectively managing their portfolios and moving them closer to their financial goals. In addition, Envestnet | Tamarac’s ability to brand and customize the app for each RIA practice provides a seamless user experience for all employees and clients.”

Since the beginning of 2013, client assets managed on Advisor View have more than doubled, from $100 billion to over $280 billion as of the second quarter of 2014—making it one of the fastest-growing portfolio management and client engagement solutions for RIAs. More than 500 RIA firms currently utilize Advisor View’s client management and reporting capabilities.

Envestnet | Tamarac’s web-based platform for independent RIAs, Advisor Xi, deeply unifies portfolio management, modeling, rebalancing, trading, billing, and reporting with a client portal and enterprise-level client relationship management (CRM) system.
