It’s 1992 Again At Sony Pictures, Except For Mac And iOS Users

Techcrunch’s John Biggs interviewed a Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) employee, who quite understandably wished to remain anonymous, regarding post-hack conditions in SPE’s L.A office, explaining “We are stuck in 1992 over here” — a time when the public Internet was in its early infancy. That is except for Mac and iOS users

Some Sony Pictures employees are using FAX machines and talking to each other face-to-face in lieu of intra-office texting, messaging, and emailing.

However, “people using Macs were fine,” the source noted, saying most work is being done on iPads and iPhones.

I was saddened by Sony’s uncourageous capitulation to cyber-terrorism, which betrays the too-much-taken-for-granted freedom of expression America enjoys, but it’s at least encouraging to hear that Apple technology has proved to be the most resistant to hack-
attacks.
