Google Search Engine Becomes More Mobile Oriented Today

Google, the most popular Internet search engine in virtually all parts of the world, is changing its preferential orientation to favor mobile device friendly searches.

“In the past, if websites wanted to pop up to the top of a Google search, they could either pay top dollar or they could ensure their site included plenty of key search words. Known as search engine optimization or ‘Google crumbs,’ these key words helped businesses and individuals to be easily accessible by anyone searching for related terms,” tech expert Karl Volkman of SRV Network, Incorporated observes.

However, starting today, SEO friendly language won’t be the only factor determining where a site will pop up in Google results.

“Google is implementing a new system in which websites that are not mobile friendly will drop to the bottom of the search results. If you are searching for something on your phone and a particular site is SEO-friendly but not mobile friendly, that site will drop in Google’s ranking,” says Volkman.

In other words, websites that want to stay relevant in mobile searches better become mobile friendly. “It’s not enough to have a website with great SEO anymore,” says Volkman, “Almost 65 percent of people use their phones to search online, and companies could lose serious business if they arenít making their websites easily viewable and navigable on a small screen.”
