New 9.7-inch iPad Pro may Have Better Camera Than 12.9-inch Flagship Model

9To5Mac’s Mark Gurman says that while Apple’s forthcoming 9.7-inch iPad Pro successor to the current iPad Air 2 will mostly match the 12.9-inch Pro model in feature set and functionality, one key difference is rumored to be the smaller model getting a 12 megapixel rear camera comparable to the one in the iPhone 6s compared to the larger Pro’s and Air 2’s eight megapixel rear camera.

Gurman also suggests that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, like the 6s, will also record 4K video.

Aside from that, the new 9.7-inch iPad is rumored to have a A9X systen-on-chip, panel technology that supports Apple Pencil, quad speakers, and a Smart Connector for an optimized Smart Keyboard cover.

Gurman says his sources project the new iPad Pro’s debut March 21st alongside a 4-inch iPhone SE and new Apple Watch models.
