QuickerTek Announces Apple Base Station Extreme with External Antenna June Special; Releases Unpublished Steve Jobs Photo

Wichita, Kansas based QuickerTek is offering a June special for their acHex External Antenna System. The company is offering free ground shipping on any order containing the acHex from June 1st to 30th. In addition, for even more savings, the company has made it a bundle by including a free acNano compact 802.11ac WiFi adaptor with any purchase of the acHex. Apple does not have external antenna connectors on any of their current models of the Base Station Extreme or Time Capsule. Quickertek says it is the only company that provides this upgrade.

QuickerTek may purchase a brand new Apple Base Station Extreme or Time Capsule and add 6 high gain 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz external removable antennas. The customer may also send in their own unit for modifications. QuickerTek uses standard SMA connectors so remote directional/omni directional antennas and amplifiers can easily be added. No special software or installation necessary. Just mount the supplied antennas and follow Apple’s setup utility.

Each acHex is custom built in Wichita, Kansas, then optimized for each customer to insure the best performance in both frequency bands. This upgraded antenna system does not in any way change the Base Station compatibility. It just adds signal strength and flexibility to the Base Station.

Many older Mac computers are only able to utilize 802.11n wireless, which is approximately half of the speed of 802.11ac. With the acNano WiFi adaptor, any Mac computer running OS X 10.4.x-10.10.x and featuring a USB port can see 802.11ac capabilities. The acNano is also convenient, being compact, about the size of one’s thumb, and using it is as easy as installing the QuickerTek provided software and plugging it in.

QuickerTek is also releasing a never before seen photo of Steve Jobs, the late co-founder and chairman of Apple, Inc. This photo was taken at MacWorld 2000, about 16 years ago, by QuickerTek’s president of, Rick Estes, as he waited in line to enter the convention. The photo can be viewed at:
