Newegg to Offer Hold for Pickup Shopping Cart Integration at FedEx Locations

Tech-focused e-retailer Newegg today announced a new shopping cart integration with FedEx that will allow customers to order and hold packages for pickup at more than 2,500 FedEx locations throughout the United States, including 1,800 FedEx Office retail stores. Newegg customers shipping to U.S. addresses will have the option of Hold at FedEx Location, which allows packages to be stored securely and free of charge for up to five business days. This new order-delivery option gives customers peace-of-mind about shipping to secure locations, with the flexibility to pick up their orders when and where its most convenient.

As e-commerce continues to grow, Hold at FedEx Location is an added benefit that gives customers more flexibility to receive their shipment to better fit their schedules, said David Payton, Vice President of Marketing at FedEx. Its our physical network, built over 40 years, thats powered FedEx to provide new solutions and serve as an engine of e-commerce.

“FedEx has always been an integral part of our order-delivery infrastructure, with reliable, timely delivery of customers orders to their doorsteps,” said Danny Lee, Newegg CEO. “Today, we expand our collaboration by giving customers the option of delivery-for-pickup at FedEx locations near their home or office.”

While most online shoppers ship items to their homes, a growing number of people prefer the security and convenience of retrieving their packages at a store or retail location. Some customers simply prefer the convenience of shipping to a location where they can pick up their packages when they want.

Newegg’s new shipping option with FedEx is an important part of the company’s effort to provide extensive order-delivery options to its customers. Newegg currently offers will-call order fulfillment at some of its distribution facilities in North America, free shipping for Newegg Premier Members and a variety of delivery options to customers.
