Play Christmas Songs on the Handbells with Holiday Bells iOS App
Houston based Lightsphere LLC has announced Holiday Bells 3.1, an update to their Christmas handbells app for iPhone and iPad. Holiday Bells Christmas handbells app for iPhone and iPad, has been updated for 2016 with a new song (Pat-A-Pan), a new holiday sticker pack for iMessages, and Auto-play. Holiday Bells has been on iOS since 2008, offering users “a fun and interactive Christmas musical experience” by playing their favorite holiday songs on the handbells. Now with Auto-play, users can either play the songs themselves or have the app play it for them. Holiday Bells for iOS features these 20 classic Christmas carols:

After choosing a song, users can follow the snowflakes on screen to tap the bells and play the song. Or by selecting “Auto-play”, the app will play the song automatically. The app can also auto-play *all* the songs, which is great for festive background bell-ringing.
Holiday Bells 3.1 also features new, professionally recorded handbell sounds. “I wanted to update the bells so they would sound good on larger speakers,” says app developer Kira Matrejek. “I met with Keith Chuvala of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and we recorded the new bell sounds using the Gloria Dei Celebration Ringers’ handbell set. So the sounds you hear in Holiday Bells are real handbells.”
Also new this year: a holiday-themed sticker pack for iMessage. Stickers include golden bells, stars, “Merry Christmas” and “Ho ho ho!” stickers, animated music notes, a music sheet and songbook, an animated glowing candle with flickering flame, a green wreath with gold ribbon and bells, birds (cedar waxwing, cardinal, and peace dove), and a red poinsettia. All of the stickers are original hand-drawn artwork by artist and app developer Kira Matrejek.
