How The iPad Totally Changed The World In Just Three Years

BusinessInsider’s Jay Yarow notes that Apple’s original iPad was released to the world on April 3, 2010, and in the three years since it’s changed everything.

Yarow observes that Apple has sold 121 million iPads, totalling $67.7 billion in sales, and is expected to have sold 18 million more this quarter worth $8 billion, making it the fastest-growing consumer tech product ever, according to Mary Meeker. The iPad has killed off the netbook, and now it’s going after notebooks as well (although Apple’s MacBooks are hurting less than any of their Windows PC competitors).

He notes that he PC industry is reeling because of the iPad, with the only PC growth now coming from tablets, and iPad revenue bigger than Microsoft’s Windows revenue.
