Ten Reasonably-Priced Lightweight Laptops Profiled

The Register says the arrival of Intel’s Haswell processors this year promised a new generation of ultraportable laptops that would be slimmer, lighter and provide better battery life than ever before.

With that in mind, the editors decided to round up 10 of the lightest laptops they could find and see if they really delivered the goods.

They note that ultralight designs do involve compromises such as limited connectivity, and that build quality and screen quality don’t always justify the prices these machines command, although that’s not a problem with the MacBook Air.

In alphabetical order:
Acer Aspire S7-391
Apple MacBook Air 13-inch
Asus ZenBook Touch UX31A
Dell Latitude 12 (E7240)
Dell XPS 11
HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11
Lenovo Yoga 11s
Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite
Sony Vaio Pro 13
Toshiba Portegé Z930-14D
