Free Goldenslate App Revolutionizes Searching for Trusted Professionals

With 92% of consumers trusting referrals from people that they know (Nielsen Research, 2012), Goldenslate’s app – which is free to download on iTunes – enables consumers to tap directly into fully searchable recommendations for service professionals from within their own mobile and online network.

The app’s easy to use interface gives members access to 200+ types of service professionals including babysitters, contractors, tutors, lawyers and more. Members can leverage their online connections and device and email contacts to create personal referral teams

Goldenslate offers a powerful alternative to traditional online searches or reviews, giving its members the ability for the first time to see who in their network knows a trusted professional. Members can notify friends that they are looking for referrals and get timely responses. The app’s referral workflow allows users to respond to referral requests by sharing mobile contacts, thus uncovering trusted connections that were previously locked away. Goldenslate gives household decision-makers the ability to search and share quality referrals in less time than it takes to do online searches.

Service professionals stand to benefit too, by using Goldenslate to manage their most effective marketing tool – referrals from satisfied customers. They can achieve personal brand credibility through their public profiles featuring “Trust” endorsements and stories from satisfied customers. The “Refer” button and the referral workflow, available with every Goldenslate business account, allow service professionals to manage and grow their referrals. Service professionals can visit the Goldenslate website to claim their referral profiles and gain access to these features and more. According to co-founder Matthew Martin, “Goldenslate is striving to be the referral destination on the web and on mobile devices.”

Goldenslate is launching in the San Jose area, expanding in the next months into the rest of the Bay Area, and then rolling out nationally.

Goldenslate was born out of co-founder, Ren Menon’s frustration with current online referral options. Menon became disenchanted after taking his sick dog, Grace, to a veterinary practice that he had looked up online. The vet made an incorrect diagnosis and treated Grace with an unnecessary invasive procedure. After seeing his beloved dog continuing to suffer, Menon asked a friend to recommend a vet, who properly diagnosed Grace’s illness and nursed her back to health. Menon’s story is not unique. Every day, people choose service professionals for their families without fully knowing the quality of the provider.

Philip Peshin, Goldenslate’s technology leader, asserts that: “With the advancement of social media, technology and mobile communication, we are able to give traditional referral sharing a facelift.”
