Windows 10 Microsoft’s Last Hurrah – Tech Expert Karl Volkman

The release of Windows 10 is hotly anticipated by stakeholders in the IT industry. However, it was recently announced that there will no longer be any boxed copies of Microsoft operating systems after Windows 10 is released.

Karl Volkman, tech expert and CTO of SRV Network Inc. says, “In the past, when Microsoft users wanted to upgrade to a new version of Windows, they would head down to their local Best Buy and purchase a copy of it. Then, they would install it on their PC. However, that has all changed.”

Instead of going down to their local electronics store, Microsoft users will now upgrade their devices electronically, much like Apple users do with their devices. And, like Apple, Microsoft will now make periodic updates and editions, instead of releasing one new program every year or two.

Windows 10 Is “The End Of An Era”

“Essentially, Microsoft is going to simplify and streamline,” explains Volkman, “Real-time updates and easy online uploads will completely change the way that Windows users interact with their PCs. And users with older versions of Windows such as 7, 8, and 8.1 can even upgrade to Windows 10 for free.”

Many people think that this move will help make Microsoft more current and more desirable in a world filled with Apple products. “It is a change for t”he better,” says Volkman, “But it is certainly the end of an era.Åh
