Microsoft Surface Pro Projected For 1Q/17 Launch

Digitimes’ Joseph Tsai reports that Microsoft is planning to launch its new Surface Pro 5 2-in-1 tablet PC in the first quarter of 2017. Tsai says the Surface 5 is expected to feature an Ultra HD display and a magnetic charging stylus, and that sometime Apple ODM Pegatron Technology is to manufacture the device, as well as Microsoft’s Surface Studio’s strong sales also benefiting Pegatron’s performance, citing a report in the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN).

Tsai notes that Microsoft also considered adding longtime Apple collaborator Quanta Computer as a Surface Pro 5 manufacturer, but so far has not yet confirmed the plan.
