Apple now offering AMD Radeon Pro Vega graphics processors with high-end 15″ MacBook Pros

Apple has added two AMD Radeon Vega graphics processor options to its high-end 15″ 2.6GHz Touch Bar MacBook Pro configurations, starting at $2799:

– 15″ 2.6GHz Touch Bar MacBook Pro w/AMD Radeon Pro Vega 16 graphics with 4GB of HBM2 memory: +$250 option
– 15″ 2.6GHz Touch Bar MacBook Pro w/AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 graphics with 4GB of HBM2 memory: +$350 option

Is the extra graphics power right for you? Apple offers this guidance on their configuration page: “MacBook Pro comes standard with a powerful discrete AMD Radeon Pro 560X graphics processor with 4GB of dedicated GDDR5 video memory. For even better performance, upgrade to Radeon Pro Vega 16 or Radeon Pro Vega 20 with 4GB of HBM2 memory. Featuring advanced Vega architecture with second-generation High Bandwidth Memory integrated on the GPU package, these GPUs deliver graphics performance that is up to 60 percent faster — accelerating video editing, 3D workflows, and game development. In addition to Radeon Pro graphics, integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 comes standard as well — a great energy-saving feature for low‑intensity graphics workloads.”
