Apple delays new MacBook Pros with M2 processors until first quarter of 2023 – Gurman

Apple M2 ProcessorMark Gurman, in this weeks’s Power On newsletter, states that Apple has apparently delayed the introduction of new 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pros with M2, M2 Pro, and M2 Max CPUs until the first quarter of 2023, most likely in early March. While no specifics were given, the delay is likely the result of continuing supply chain issues. Tim Cook, in Apple’s quarterly statements last week, stated that Apple’s lineup is complete for the coming holiday shopping season, confirming Mark’s suggestion.

Gurman also states that an M2-powered Mac mini is in testing as well, and this mini may be released alongside the new M2 MacBook Pros in early 2023. Development on an Apple Silicon Mac Pro continues, too, perhaps with an updated version of the M2 chip with more CPU & graphics cores than are available with the M1 CPU.
