Apple updated 15″ MacBook Pros in October 2016 with faster CPUs and beefer graphics. The new models build on previous generation models, which are thinner and lighter than before with a new aluminum design featuring an enhanced keyboard with retina, multi-touch Touch Bar and Touch ID. Available in Space Gray and Silver, the MacBook Pros have trackpads twice as large as before while doing away with the optical drive. Four Thunderbolt 3, USB-C, ports are included with each model allowing, for the first time, for the power cord to be plugged into the computer on either side. Retina displays are brighter and more color-rich than before.
Apple also introduced a 13″ MacBook Pro with traditional function keys and two Thunderbolt 3 ports for $1499. It includes a 2.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, Intel Iris 540 graphics, 8GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD. This particular 13″ model is meant to replace the 13″ MacBook Air and is available to ship right away.
