Logitech G Unveils G302 Daedalus Prime MOBA Gaming Mouse

I’m not much of a gamer, but I am a fan of gaming mice for other categories of computing, especially if you like cutting-edge precision, silky-smooth feel, and durability a cut or two above the median.

Logitech’s gaming peripherals division today introduced its newest Logitech G mouse, the Logitech G302 Daedalus P Logitech G Unveils G302 Daedalus Prime MOBA Gaming Mouse.

The name is intriguing. In Greek mythology, Daedalus was a renowned craftsman, artist, inventor, and builder of the labyrinth for King Minos of Crete, who needed it to imprison his wife’s son the Minotaur (part man, part bull). For his efforts, Daedalus was shut up in a tower to prevent his knowledge of his Labyrinth from spreading.

Prevented from leaving Crete by sea with the king monitoring all vessels, forbidding them to sail without being carefully searched, Daedalus set to work fashioning wings for himself and his son Icarus, using feathers secured using string and wax. Daedalus cautioned Icarus about flying too high, because the heat of the sun would melt the wax, nor too low, because the sea foam would soak the feathers. Icarus didn’t listen, and soared upward toward the sun, which softened the wax holding the feather wings together with Icarus falling into the sea and drowning.

Anyway, an interesting naming choice. The Logitech G302 Daedalus Prime MOBA Gaming Mouse is designed to withstand the rigors of professional eSports gaming. Specifically, its proprietary metal spring button tensioning system is claimed to improve click responsiveness, making in-game actions fast and accurate, as well as being super light and responsive, with fast buttons, great tactile feel, and precise tracking — all qualities that appeal to me for general purpose point and click input.

Designed For High-Speed Clicking

The buttons are capable of registering up to five clicks per second, ensuring the Logitech G302 can keep up with rapid-fire clicking.

The Logitech G302 also incorporates Logitech’s Delta Zero sensor technology, which combines sophisticated lens design, illumination geometry, and algorithms to deliver what Logitech claims is the most accurate translation of hand movements to on-screen actions currently available.

Customizable Settings

The Logitech G302 features six programmable buttons, allowing you to customize your gaming experience. The buttons are programmable to do anything from one-button hotkeys to complex macros. You can use the default configuration straight out of the box, or use Logitech Gaming Software to assign any game command or multi-command macro to the buttons. The Logitech G302 also features four DPI settings that can be accessed in an instant, making it easy to shift down for pixel-perfect targeting or shift up for high-speed navigation, all with maximum precision.

Lightweight and Durable Design

The lightweight design features super low friction feet and ultra-durable primary buttons that have been tested for more than 20 million clicks — equivalent to playing up to 15 hours per day for two years — so you can play with confidence knowing that the Logitech G302 will survive for battles to come.
