Staingate MacBook Pro Owner’s Group Demands Free Repair Program For Screen Defect

Staingate is a group of Apple customers who paid more than 2000 USD/EUR for a Macbook Pros that that they report are manifesting horrific stains in the screen.

They note that the stains can begin showing up as early as 7 months after purchase, although there is no clear pattern as to how it starts. Some users experience it in small spots around the edge, while on other screens it appears in the middle as large patches.

Staingate says Apple hasn’t responded accordingly to this problem and has told the group that this is a cosmetic damage and therefore not covered by the warranty.

Repair costs are around 800 USD/EUR with a 3 month warranty, so probably in 12 months the Macbook would start showing stains again.

What does Staingate expect from Apple? — A Free Repair Program for all Macbook Pros that are afflicted with this problem, without taking into consideration if it is under warranty or Apple Care.

Staingate says they have a database of 2696 people that have this problem, it grows every day, and they expect solutions.

They also request if you are having this problem that you join their database , the Staingate Facebook Group and share their Website link with other people that could be having it too.
