Apple MacBook Orders To Rise 20% Sequentially In 2Q13 – Report

Digitimes’ Aaron Lee and Joseph Tsai say that with Apple ready to release its new MacBook products in the near future, sources from the upstream supply chain have revealed that orders for MacBook devices are expected to grow 20% sequentially in the second quarter of 2013.

Lee and Tsai note that the new MacBook refresh is expected to include only specification upgrades to Intel’s latest Haswell Core i family of processor silicon (along with Intel HD Graphics 5000 IGPUs), to be unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

Since there are no major upgrades, the sources believe their shipments for MacBooks for 2013 are unlikely to surge, and may only grow by a single-digit percentage or even stay flat on the year.
